Security and control for your AI teammates

MatesBot is built so teammates can act on their own while you keep control. You set approval rules, an AI reviewer flags unexpected actions, passwords and keys are encrypted and never shown to the AI model, and spaces keep each team's chats, files, memory, computers, and connections apart.

Approvals

  • Teammates act on their own by default. You add exceptions such as "Ask before purchases" or "Ask before sending external email", or rules per tool or per app.
  • Some actions always ask: deleting or archiving a teammate, requests for secrets, forgetting memory, and trusting a new server.
  • Flag unexpected actions: an AI reviewer asks you when unsure instead of letting the action through.
  • Take control of a teammate's live screen at any time, then hand it back.

Secrets

  • Passwords and keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
  • They are entered in a masked card, never typed into chat.
  • They are never shown to the AI model, and are blanked out of tool output.
  • For passwords, two-factor codes, CAPTCHAs, payments, and passkeys on websites, the teammate hands you the screen.

People, spaces, and sharing

  • Spaces keep chats, files, memory, computers, and connections separate.
  • Company roles: owner, admin, and member.
  • Admins can invite people, suspend a member (which stops their bots), and hand a person's teammates to someone else.
  • Admins can set a weekly spend limit per member and choose which models members may use.
  • Sharing a teammate shares its setup only, never its computer, credentials, files, private memory, or history.
  • You choose who may ask each shared teammate for what, and new askers need your approval.
  • App connections belong to the person, and each teammate needs permission to use them.

On mobile

Chats are stored on the phone, excluded from backups, and notification previews can be hidden.
