Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and MatesBot ("MatesBot", "we", "us") for the use of matesbot.com, the web app at my.matesbot.com, and the MatesBot desktop, iPhone, and Android apps (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for a company, you confirm that you may accept these Terms for that company, and "you" includes the company.

• You sign up with a work email. Free email addresses are not accepted.
• You must be at least 18 and give accurate account details.
• Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity in your account.
• Company owners and admins manage their workspace: they can invite people, set roles, suspend members, hand a member's teammates to someone else, set spend limits, and choose which models members may use.

MatesBot teammates are AI, not people. They act on your instructions, routines, and connected tools, and they act on their own unless you set approval rules. You decide what each teammate may do and which tools it may use, and you are responsible for the actions you or your company let teammates take.

• AI can make mistakes. Check important results before you rely on them, especially anything sent to other people, payments, and changes to live systems.
• Teammates do not give legal, tax, medical, or financial advice. They can help prepare work, such as VAT records, but you remain responsible for decisions and filings.
• Use approval rules for sensitive actions, such as purchases or external email. Some actions always ask, such as deleting a teammate or requests for secrets.

You must not use the Service, or ask a teammate, to:

• break any law, or help anyone else do so;
• send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, or impersonate anyone;
• harass, threaten, or harm people, or create content that sexualizes minors;
• access accounts, systems, or data you are not allowed to access, or break another service's terms;
• create or spread malware, or attack, overload, or probe the Service or any other system;
• get around limits, security, or approval controls, or resell the Service without our written permission;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.

We may pause a teammate or suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts others at risk.

You keep ownership of the messages, files, and other content you put into the Service, and of the work teammates produce for you. You give MatesBot permission to store, process, and transmit that content only as needed to run the Service for you, including sending it to the AI model and tools a teammate uses. You confirm you have the right to share the content and the tool access you give us.

MatesBot owns the Service itself, including its software, design, and brand. You may not copy or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

Teammates can work with services run by others, such as AI model providers, apps you connect, chat channels, and websites. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. On the Bring-your-own-models plan, your use of your own provider account is also governed by your agreement with that provider.

• Plans, prices, and trial terms are shown on our Pricing page and in the app at the time you buy. Taxes such as VAT are added where they apply, and we issue tax invoices.
• When a free trial ends, your company becomes read-only: you can still sign in and read, teammates pause, and nothing is deleted. Choosing a plan during the trial keeps the remaining trial days.
• Paid plans renew each billing period until cancelled. Extra seats are prorated when you add them, and removing seats lowers the next bill.
• On credits plans, AI usage is charged from your credits at provider cost plus a markup. Monthly plan credits reset each period. Top-up credits never expire. Auto top-up is optional.
• You can pay by card, bank transfer, or cash where offered. If a payment fails, we may pause teammates until it is paid.
• Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we agree to one in writing.

If you download a MatesBot app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and MatesBot, not Apple or Google. MatesBot, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support, and any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for the iOS app and may enforce them. You must also follow the store's own usage rules. Subscriptions bought through an app store are billed and managed by that store.

You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and delete its data, use the data deletion request form or email support@matesbot.com. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these Terms, does not pay, or creates legal or security risk. Where we can, we will tell you first. Sections 5, 10, and 11 continue after an account ends.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or fit a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, MatesBot is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, or data, and our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will tell account owners by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new Terms apply.
